How Brittany Snow & Tyler Stanaland’s Prenup Affects Their Divorce
Brittany Snow and Tyler Stanaland have been on-and-off for years. However, after two years of marriage, it appears the couple may be finally calling it quits, as Brittany has filed for divorce.
According to TMZ, Brittany made a request with the court earlier this month, citing irreconcilable differences. In her divorce filing, the actress acknowledged that a prenup is in place.
The terms of their prenup are unclear, but it likely dictates the terms of their divorce, including whether either party is eligible for spousal support and what assets they’ll walk away with.
With a decades-long career in Hollywood and known for movies like Pitch Perfect and Hairspray, Brittany is worth a reported $9 million.
For his past, Tyler was a professional surfer, before he transitioned to a career in real estate. This wasn’t surprising – his father, John Stanaland, runs a residential real estate firm in Orange County, and six generations of their family have been in the business.
Nowadays, Tyler shows off his real estate skills on Selling the OC, as he works with the Oppenheim Group.
"It instantly felt more like friends catching up than a boss/employee conversation," Tyler previously said about why he wanted to work for Jason Oppenheim.
It’s unclear how much Tyler is worth, but some estimates suggest it’s around $350,000. It’s likely less than his estranged wife, which may make her eligible for spousal support, depending on the stipulations of their prenup.
Tyler and Brittany reportedly met in 2018 after connecting on social media. They were engaged by the following year and married in 2020.
However, the couple went through a rough patch in August 2020, when Tyler’s Selling the OC co-star Kayla Cardona tried to kiss him twice during the premiere of the show’s first season.
The following month, the pair announced that they had separated.
"After time and consideration, Tyler and I have made the difficult decision to separate,” Brittany wrote in a post made to her Instagram.
"This decision was made with love and mutual respect for one another,” she continued. “We have realized we need to take some time and make sure we are each living our most fulfilling and authentic lives. We started this journey as best friends and our relationship will continue to be a priority not only for us but for our dog Charlie.”
Tyler and Brittany were seen spending time together after the announcement, fuelling reconciliation rumors. But with Brittany’s recent decision to file for divorce, it appears things are officially over between the two.
