The Neeson Garage: A Peek Inside Liam Neeson's Car Collection
The Irish actor has quite a story to tell, including years in the theatre before rising to Hollywood stardom in Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List.
Later in his career, he appeared in blockbusters like Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace, Gangs of New York and Love Actually. In 2012 Liam Neeson starred in the film he’s perhaps most well-known for; the first of the Taken trilogy.
Always a man of class, Neeson owns a 37-acre home, built in 1890 which includes a tennis court and swimming pool and made Empire magazine’s list of 100 Sexiest Stars in Film History.
With all of those action films, his gruff personality, deep voice and a net worth of $175 million, one might think he’s got a car collection to die for, however, Neeson has shared that he really doesn’t know that much about cars and just picks out the one he likes.
Needless to say, he has a good eye, even for one that isn’t necessarily a car enthusiast.
Let’s take a look at the vehicles Neeson has driven on set or around town and which ones he holds in his personal collection.
8 ’89 Harley Davidson
Doubtful at 70 years old the star is still riding around on his Harley, but in 2000, Neeson nearly died when the motorcycle collided with a deer in Upstate New York. According to Nicki Swift, he was thrown from the motorcycle just moments before it was demolished, crashing into a tree. A passerby helped save Neeson’s life and he recovered quickly, but hopefully, he will take it easier next time.
7 Semi-Truck
Interestingly, Neeson shared with the AV Club that his time filming 2021’s Ice Road was full of awe and respect. While the action star didn’t take a semi home, he had the opportunity to learn about its massive power, typical features and just what a driver has to manage from day to day. If that wasn’t enough, Neeson said taking such a beast out on the ice was downright dangerous and he was thankful for stuntmen throughout the filming.
6 Dodge Challenger 5.0
In 2022, Neeson’s film Blacklight, starring Aidan Quinn, Emmy Raver-Lampman and Taylor John Smith, was released in theaters and everyone was talking about the intense car chase scene. In fact, that chase was done with the not-so expensive Dodge Challenger, but with a very cool and classic look for the action film. Ironically, Neeson only sat in the Challenger. This is because he refuses to do his own stunts and his wildly similar look-alike did all the fun stuff behind the wheel. However, Neeson has had the opportunity to star behind the wheel of numerous unique and classy vehicles over his career.
5 Chevrolet Suburban
For one of the vehicles Neeson actually has in his garage today, look no further than the classic Chevy, known for its power and long-standing popularity. According to Hot Cars, the full-size SUV is considered one of the most successful vehicles of all time and has been in production since 1934. Though Neeson may or may not recognize the classy ride as one to be admired, he certainly likes the color black, as we’ll see in the rest of his choice of vehicle.
4 BMW 5 Series
Seven generations of the BMW 5 Series have been released. Neeson’s is a modern model with luxurious features, including a spacious interior and eight-speed automatic transmission under the hood. No one apart from the BMW -3 series comes close to matching the 5 series in sales numbers and what began as a Sedan-only line (like Neeson’s) was followed by the wagon version, keeping drivers on the lookout for what they’ll do next. Stars Jerry Ferrera and Charlie Sheen also drive the 5 series.
3 Audi Q7
The German auto manufacturer announced the first ever Audi SUV in 2005 and Neeson jumped at the chance. The Irish actor is likely a fan of European automakers and based on the Audi Q7 with its luxury and speed, it’s not hard to see why. He joins other celebs in Audi fandom like Kevin Costner, Ben Stiller and Joe Jonas. By 2016, the manufacturer had slimmed down in appearance while keeping the luxury interior and comforts in place.
2 Bentley Continental GT Convertible
According to CARHP, we see the Rob Roy star in this classy ride often, while cruising around Hollywood. The vehicle features leather seating, wooden trim and metal accents for that pristine look. This wildly powerful car with a whopping 626 hp is the envy of all and can come with a price tag of nearly $250,000. It was this convertible fans saw in Neeson’s cameo on the hit HBO series, Entourage.
1 Mercedes E Class
Of course, owning a Mercedes in any version is a rite of passage for those earning big profit. Another luxury car on the market includes Neeson’s mid-sized Benz with heated front seats, auto climate control, power folding side mirrors and remote start via mobile app. That same mobile app will alert Neeson if some bumps his car, if there’s traffic ahead and give him blind spot assistance. For the A-list actor, he’s got the funds to purchase a top-notch vehicle with plenty of power and class.
