3 Ali Wong: A Strategic Thinker

Ali Wong, or Alexandra Dawn Wong, was raised in Pacific Heights in a San Francisco neighborhood with a panoramic view of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay, the Palace of Fine Arts, Alcatraz, and the Presidio. Ali was born on April 19, 1982, the youngest of the four children of her Chinese-American father, Adolphus Wong, and her Vietnamese mother, Tam Wong. Her parents were from Vietnam and moved to America to work as a social worker. Ali’s late father, Adolphus, was an anesthesiologist at Kaiser Permanente for thirty years.

Ali Wong was considered a gifted student in her academic years. After graduating from San Francisco University High School in 2000, she studied at UCLA, where she majored in Asian-American studies. After stepping out to college, she flew to Vietnam and studied Fulbright. This program aims to develop intercultural relations, cultural diplomacy, and intercultural competence between the people of the United States and other countries.

Ali Wong got out of college at a very young age. As she went out and stepped out from her academe, she stepped into bright lights and went up to stage her talent as a stand-up comedian. She later moved to New York to pursue her career as a stand-up talent and began to perform up to several times a night.

2 Her Comedy Became Extra Special

Following her initial success on bar stages in 2011, she was ranked as one of the top ten comics to watch by an American media company called Variety. Subsequently, she was invited and appeared on The Tonight Show and even invited to perform on John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show. Wong’s career boomed out after showcasing her talent in every show and went up on appearing on several television shows, as mentioned earlier. She also appeared in VH1’s Best Week Ever and Hey Girl. Additionally, before becoming a Netflix sensation, she starred in the 2012 film Savages and Dealin’ With Idiots in 2013, alongside veteran actors Benicio Del Toro and Salma Hayek.

As soon as Ali succeeded in several appearances, she used it as fuel and never stopped until her momentum peaked. In 2014, her stardom on Netflix began. Wong played Dr. Lina Lark in Netflix’s dark psychological drama Black Box. Since then, she has made herself stick in the public’s eye, and her projects never stop. As she already knows the cycle of her work, she tried on new things, like becoming a writer for a show, and she did. Since its release, she wrote the 2014 American sitcom television series Fresh Off The Boat. 20th Fox Century Fox Television produced the show for ABC.

1 Wong's Unique Style Made Her The 'Queen' Of Comedy

Ali Wong would admit her style in making people laugh; yes, she would. Ali Wong is a freak, freakily authentic. Her unique style helped her work be more fun by many, and she was not a bore. Ali Wong’s unique style in becoming a comic is sensational. She highlights her Asian background through her scripts, making people crazy about her. It’s her way of expressing her roots; she uses it as her backbone for her best performance.

In 2015, while she was seven months pregnant with her first child, she was filmed for her Netflix stand-up special titled Baby Cobra at Neptune Theater in Seattle. Wong’s Netflix Special became her star-making moment for various fans. Three years later, after her Netflix special’s success, she starred with another rising comedian actor Randall Park in the 2019 Netflix romantic comedy film Always Be My Maybe. She published Dear Girls: Intimate Tales, Untold Secrets, And Advice For Living Your Best Life the same year. Her book earned a title in Goodreads Choice Award in 2019. Shortly after her skip breaks on screen, she returned to it again. She released her third Netflix stand-up special titled Don Wong. Ali Wong deserves the spot of becoming the current comedy queen, looking into her unique style, raw wit, confusing charm, and how she performs in a manner that does not acknowledge and express regret. Ali Wong is the new face in the comedy industry and, indeed, the current queen of comedy, girl power!
