Phoebe Waller-Bridge's Highest-Grossing Movies And TV Shows, Ranked

You may have remembered her from her role in George Lucas' 2018 Star Wars film, Solo: A Star Wars Story, where she starred alongside actor and playwright Woody Harrelson, Supernatural actor Alden Caleb Ehrenreich, and the comedian, actor, rapper, and producer Donald Glover. But Phoebe Waller-Bridge has many more layers than what you see in Hollywood films. Born in Hammersmith, London, England, Waller-Bridges has proved to be a brilliant screenwriter and producer in recent years, especially with her recent British television series, Fleabag, as well as Killing Eve, starring actress Sandra Oh. At thirty-seven years old, she is still in the prime of her career, and is scheduled to appear as Helen Shaw opposite legendary actor Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, being released in the United States on June 30th, 2023. Here are Phoebe Waller-Bridge's highest-grossing movies and television shows, ranked.

8 No Time To Die - $774.2 Million

The James Bond film franchise is without question one of the most successful spy films in the history of film making in the United States and the United Kingdom. Fans have seen only the best and most seductive British male actors come and go, such as Roger Moore, Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, and the most recent fictional MI6 agent, Daniel Craig. While Waller-Bridge, who was thirty-five at the time, did not appear on screen in the film, she was fortunate enough to have been a contributing screenplay writer working together with Cary Joji Fukunaga as the director. Despite being delayed by the COVID-19 Pandemic, the film still grossed an incredible $774.2 million at the worldwide box office.

7 Solo:A Star Wars Story - $393.2 Million

In 2018, while in the midst of massive success in other television series ventures, Phoebe was offered a role in the second Star Wars anthology film, Solo: A Star Wars Story. It is the second installment after its predecessor, Rogue One, following the sale of George Lucas' production company, Lucasfilm, as well as the rights to all existing Star Wars films, to Walt Disney for over $4 billion in 2012. The film was directed by multimillionaire actor/director Ron Howard, and stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo (who the film is centered around), Donald Glover a.k.a Childish Gambino, and actresses Thandiwe Newton, Emilia Clarke, and Waller-Bridge as a droid. The film became the first Star Wars film to become a box office bomb, grossing $393 million against a budget of $275-300 million.

6 The Iron Lady - $115.9 Million

The next super-successful film that Waller-Bridge was a part of was the biographical drama, The Iron Lady, which was released in 2011. Based primarily on the life and career of former British politician, Margaret Thatcher, the film highlighted her role as the first woman to hold office as well as being the longest-serving Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of the 20th century. Margaret Thatcher's character was played by renowned American actress, Meryl Streep, who won her third Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her role. Phoebe Waller-Bridges played the role of Susie, Thatcher's secretary, and featured alongside other British actors such as Olivia Colman, Jim Broadbent, Scottish actor Iain Glen, and Richard E. Grant. Against a budget of $13 million, the movie more than tripled that figure at the box office, earning $115.9 million globally.

5 Goodbye Christopher Robin - $7.2 Million

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is featured in another biographical film in Simon Curtis' Goodbye Christopher Robin which was released in September 2017. Focusing on the dramatic, turbulent, and bitter-sweet lives of Winnie-the-Pooh creator, Alan Alexander Milne, or Blue, portrayed by Domhnall Gleeson, the movie is set during the World War I era in 1916. Blue is a writer, but is drafted to fight in the war. When he returns to England to resume life with his wife Daphne Milne, portrayed by Australian actress Margot Robbie, he is traumatized by the flashbacks of his war experiences and suffers from shell shock. Despite his condition, the couple have a baby boy named Christopher Robin Milne (Alex Lawther), who they nicknamed Billy Moon. After moving his family to a house in the countryside, Blue and Billy start going for walks in the woods, where Blue makes up stories about the boy's adventures with his toys. This is where he finds inspiration to begin writing the Winnie-the-Pooh stories, which brings him fame and fortune. The film received average ratings, but grossed $7.2 million at the box office.

4 Man Up - $2.7 Million

Phoebe Waller-Bridge has successfully transitioned into the limelight of mainstream Hollywood, but her mountaintop moment came from years of acting in English movies with some of the world's most famously known British actors. One of those movies was the 2015 romantic comedy, Man Up, where she filled a small role alongside actress Lake Bell and Shaun of the Dead star Simon Pegg. While Lake Bell occupied the role of one of the main characters in the film, Waller-Bridge took up a much smaller role. Nevertheless, the movie grossed $2.9 million worldwide and was received favorably by critics, which is a difficult feat for most romantic comedies to pull off.

3 Fleabag - 2.5 Million Viewers

Undoubtedly, one of Waller-Bridge's grandest accomplishments is the original production of her own comedy-drama television series, Fleabag, which was created and written by the young actress who is also the show's star - Fleabag. According to Variety, Phoebe signed a three-year deal with Amazon Prime Video beginning in 2016, which is when Fleabag was first added to the list of comedy series on the Amazon Original Series. The black comedy drama was produced by Two Brothers Pictures and spawned a total of twelve episodes. It's considered by Movie Web to be one of the greatest TV shows of all time and has an impressive approval rate of 100% by critics, and a 93% approval rating by viewers. In 2019, when Amazon's three-year deal came to an end, Phoebe's Fleabag won three Emmy Awards in the comedy categories, including Best Comedy, Best Actress in a Comedy Series, and Best Writing for a Comedy Series.

2 Killing Eve - 3.5 Million Viewers

When it comes to her work ethic, Phoebe goes into overdrive as a writer, producer, and an actress. After singing her three-year wager with Amazon for the production of Fleabag, she held the role of one of the leading executive producers as well as the head writer for the first series of Killing Eve, a British spy thriller television series that began in April 2018 and ended April 2022. While she doesn't appear on the screen in this series, her prowess behind the scenes has still made waves in the entertainment industry, earning her widespread acclaim for her talents. According to Daily Mail, her company PMWB Limited earned over $27 million from 2019-2021, raising her current net worth to $40 million! Killing Eve stars Canadian/American actress Sandra Oh, English actress Jodie Comer, and Irish actor Owen McDonnell.

1 Broadchurh - 9.3 Million Viewers

The road to success was not an overnight transition for Phoebe as she has gone through many different avenues to hone her talents as an actress. And it would make sense that a broad resume in acting would also enhance her skills as a screenwriter and executive producer. Another British television series that the thirty-seven-year-old appeared in was the crime drama Broadchurch. The series ran for three seasons between 2013 and 2017 and starred Olivia Colman, Scottish actor David Tennant, Jonathan Bailey, and Charlotte Beaumont. According to Express, Waller-Bridges was introduced in the role of a junior barrister named Abby Thompson in 2015 and appeared in a total of ten episodes. In its first season, the series averaged 9.3 million viewers in the UK. When the series was over in April 2017, the show averaged close to 30 million UK viewers across all three seasons.
