Kylie Jenner’s Makeup Brand In Trouble After Evidence Of ‘Unsanitary’ Conditions

Kylie Jenner is the face behind one of the biggest makeup brands in the world, but Kylie Cosmetics is facing backlash after evidence of unsanitary conditions made its way online. During the most recent episode of The Kardashians, cameras followed Kylie as she visited one of the labs that produces her makeup, located in Milan, Italy.

While the reality star meant to give a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into creating her products, what caught the most attention was the lack of precautions Kylie took before interacting with the products.

In one clip, Kylie can be seen mixing a Kylie Cosmetics concealer with bare hands. She also refused to tie her long hair back. Later on in the episode, Kylie holds the beaker of makeup product up to her lips and pretends to take a sip. “I kind of want to drink it!” she exclaims.

She then uses a spatula to spread some of the product on her gloveless hand, before placing the tool back inside the beaker, thereby cross contaminating the product.

It appears no one said anything to Kylie about her bare hands and loose hair, even though lab staff in the background could be seen wearing protective gear, including face masks and hair nets.

Page Six reports that the footage was filmed in August 2022 when Kylie was visiting Italy, though it only made it on television recently. After the episode aired, fans instantly called out Kylie’s lack of sanitary precautions online, and questioned the standards she has for her brand.

Kylie Cosmetics is reportedly worth nearly $1 billion, but this wasn’t the first time the brand came under fire for unsanitary conditions.

In August, after filming the footage for The Kardashians, Kylie shared images of herself to Instagram at the lab. Many comments pointed out she wasn’t wearing gloves nor did she have her long hair tied back.

She even caught the attention of makeup mogul Kevin James Bennett, who made his own Instagram post slamming the Kylie Cosmetics lab for not following proper sanitation guidelines. This prompted Kylie to issue her own response amid growing backlash.

“Kevin — this picture is not taken in a manufacturing facility,” she wrote. “I would never bypass sanitary protocols and neither would any other celeb or beauty brand owner.”

So far, Kylie hasn’t responded to the most recent controversy over her makeup brand.
