Neighbours Start Petition To Kick Nicki Minajs Husband Out Of $19.5 Million Mansion
After renting for years, Nicki Minaj finally bought a property for $19.5 million at the end of last year. But Nicki may not be staying there long, as she’s already having conflict with the neighbours, or should we say, her husband is.
According to TMZ, a petition has been circling in the Hidden Hills neighborhood in hopes of pushing the couple out. It’s already garnered hundreds of signatures.
The petition was reportedly started by local resident Beverly Bardan, who takes issue with the fact that Nicki’s husband Kenneth Petty is a registered sex offender. She argues that Kenneth’s presence in the neighbour is a safety issue.
Her petition states, "SHOW that you are against sex offenders in our Hidden Hills neighborhood!"
Kenneth was previously charged with attempted rape in 1995. He was sentence to multiple years in jail and must now register as a sex offender.
In the United States, law enforcement must make certain information about sex offenders publicly available, as per Megan’s Law. So, when Kenneth recently filed to change his address to the new Hidden Hills property, it didn’t take long for the community to take notice.
Nicki and Kenneth may have just bought the property in December, but he’s been spending a lot of time at home – literally – as Kenneth is serving a year of home detention for refusing to register as a sex offender in California in 2021.
So far, neither Nicki nor Kenneth have publicly responded to the controversy. But they may not be taking the petition seriously.
In an update, TMZ revealed that the petition’s creator may be trolling the Internet, revealing they’re a “Cardi B superfan.”
When the publication reached out to the Hidden Hills Community Association – which the petition encourages signees to contact with complaints about Nicki and Kenneth – they said they’re unaware of the petition.
Moreover, the association says they’re unaware of someone named Beverly Barden living in the areas. TMZ adds that they couldn’t find a public listing of anyone in the community with that name, adding to the theory it may be a hoax.
Even if the petition was created by a troll, it has caught the attention of a lot of people, many of whom live close to Nicki and Kenneth. TMZ notes the petition has nearly 1,000 signatures. So, it could make it an uncomfortable area to live in for the famous couple.
For now, however, it appears Nicki and Kenneth are enjoying their new abode, despite the ongoing controversy.
