Nicki Minaj Sued For Thousands After Damaging Borrowed Jewelry

Nicki Minaj has found herself in the middle of a new lawsuit, and this time it’s over a variety of custom jewelry she allegedly didn’t pay for.

According to TMZ, court documents reveal that Nicki is being sued by Roseark, a jewelry store located in West Hollywood. Her stylist Brett Alan Nelson is also being named in the lawsuit.

Both Nicki and Brett signed a lawsuit that agreed to allow the entertainer to borrow 66 pieces of jewelry from the store for a public appearance. It stipulated that Brett needed to return the jewelry within a week. It also made him responsible for any damages that the bling may face.

Roseark now claims that Brett failed to return the pieces by the deadline. When he did get the jewelry back to the store, they claim there was noticeable damages to several of the pieces, including a pair of earrings and a ring.

This led Roseark to send Brett an invoice for over $26,000 in damages. Despite multiple attempts to get what they claim they’re owed, Roseark says they haven’t seen a penny, hence why the launched the lawsuit to recover damages.

However, Nicki’s team is denying the allegations. They claim the jewelry was returned in pristine condition, and they were returned for a significant amount of time before the jewelry store complained about their condition.

"We have not been presented with any evidence that any of the jewelry at issue was damaged by Nicki,” he attorney, Jordan Siev, told TMZ.

This lawsuit appears to be nothing more than an ordinary insurance claim by the jeweler designed to generate publicity for itself and extract a payment to which it is not entitled. We will defend the lawsuit vigorously,” he continued.

Nicki may have to appear in court in the near future over the jeweler’s lawsuit, but that’s nothing new to her. The rapper was dragged into a lawsuit last year over a woman, Jennifer Hough, the Nicki’s husband, Kenneth Petty, was convicted of assaulting.

Kenneth spent time in jail after being convicted of rape in 1995. He now has to register as a sex offender. However, both Kenneth and Nicki have denied any wrongdoing, and claim he should never have been sent to jail.

In August, Jennifer filed a lawsuit against the couple, claiming they tried to intimidate her into recanting her allegations, though she dropped the case before it went to court.

More recently, Nicki filed a defamation lawsuit against blogger Nosey Heaux, which she eventually won.
