BMG Bags Jason Aldean Catalog In Blockbuster $250 Million Deal
BMG has struck a headline-making deal for the recorded catalog of country heavyweight Jason Aldean, with Bloomberg reporting the agreement to be worth around $250 million. The agreement also covers publishing and recording rights tied to 23 other artists and songwriters. In total, the catalog features more than 1,000 songs from various genres. BMG described the acquisition as its “single largest catalog investment” and tied it directly to Bertelsmann’s Boost strategy, which has poured more than $1.5 billion into music rights since 2021.
