SAUCED: Florida man cuffed outside Olive Garden eating pasta with bare hands
He didn’t even have a chance to finish his meal.
A man was arrested outside a Naples, Fla., Olive Garden after allegedly harassing patrons inside and outside the establishment. Upon arrival, cops found a shirtless Ben Padgett, 32, eating a plate of spaghetti with his bare hands.
The Miami Herald reported Padgett had allegedly been panhandling outside the restaurant and shouting expletives at patrons. The man also allegedly went inside and threatened to kick the “ass” of an Olive Garden employee while also querying him about his penis.
Police did care a little bit about Padgett’s appearance, allowing the suspect to wipe the sauce off his face before arresting him, an arrest report stated. The police document noted Padgett was supposedly drunk and “muttering obscenities” before being cuffed.
According to NBC2, the man twisted his body and kicked his legs while being led to the squad car. While being placed in the back of the vehicle, Padgett smashed his forehead on the metal cage that divides the front and back seats.
Padgett was charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest without violence. After a hospital visit, the man was transported to Naples Jail Center.
He was later released after posting $2,000 bail.
