Kids Design Jordan Sneakers For Zion Williamson To Play In Next Season

Former Duke Blue Devils sensation Zion Williamson will be playing in an Air Jordan XXXIV designed by children at some point during the upcoming NBA season.

Williamson, who was drafted as the first overall pick by the New Orleans Pelicans during the summer, is expected to be as huge a hit as LeBron James was in his rookie year and is already well on his way.

The 19-year-old has already landed the most lucrative sneaker deal ever signed by a rookie, having joined the Jordan Brand. And, as part of the Jordan UNITE initiative, high school students have designed bespoke versions of the aforementioned sneakers for him.

The rookie had a hand in designing the sneakers as well and, according to Bleacher Report, they won't be going up for sale. The kids who helped with the design, however, will each receive a pair of their own - something which is sure to make them the envy of their peers.

There's no date set on when the player will wear the shoes but it's understood to be sometime after the All-Star Break.

The kids who participated in the designing of Zion's Jordans were part of artist Bmike's "BeLite" program for young, aspiring artists keen on learning from the "I Deserve Better" singer.

Students from Benjamin Franklin High School and St. Augustine High School were participants too.

The Jordan Brand's UNITE platform is an initiative that "celebrates a generation coming together to create an impact that goes beyond the game."

The Washington Wizards' Rui Hachimura, Boston Celtics' Jayson Tatum and Kia Nurse of the WNBA's New York Liberty join Williamson in the first film.

Unfortunately, we can't show you the sneakers as no images have been made available but they could be soon enough. You can always count on teens to leak things, right? Then again, they may have been without their cell phones wherever they worked on the design.
