A drumkit is a very strange purchase for any adult to be making for their friends when you consider none of them actually play the instrument. However, that is exactly what happens when Phoebe decides to buy Joey a drumkit, which she mainly does to convince Rachel to leave.

The pair have an agreement that Rachel will return to living at Phoebe's apartment, but she begins to worry that Rachel won't stick to that agreement. Because of that, Phoebe tries to make the living conditions awkward, and the gift of a drumkit is just one part of that.

It's custom made to feature different things that Phoebe wanted to have on it, however, what Ross didn't realize was that Phoebe actually couldn't ride it. They then had to try and teach Phoebe how to actually ride a bike within the episode, which led to some hilarious moments.

8 Pat The Dog

Another item that the price of is unknown is the white porcelain dog that showcases Ross once again showing he is a good friend. It is Ross who makes the purchase of Pat, which proves he is always happy to buy something in order to cheer his friends up.

After Joey is fired from Days Of Our Lives, Joey has to sell everything he purchases back as he can no longer afford them. Even though what he bought is totally ridiculous, it just makes him sad to lose them, which is why Ross picks up the dog as a way to cheer him up.

7 Sting Tickets

Ross and Phoebe's attempts to secure Sting tickets is absolutely hilarious. With Ben being in the same class as Sting's child, Phoebe attempts to pretend to be his mom in an attempt to get to know them and secure free tickets, only to wind up getting a restraining order put against her.

However, that doesn't mean that the pair give up on going to see the music legend. In the end, after all of Phoebe's ridiculous attempts to secure tickets, it is Ross who comes up with the goods. He buys two tickets for him and Phoebe, meaning they get to experience the gig after all.

So instead, Rachel plays down her purchase and claims that it came from a flea market, making Phoebe agree to have it inside the apartment. She's obviously shocked by the high quality of the table from such a place when in reality, it was an expensive purchase.

5 Monica's Boots

One of the most expensive purchases made on the show is by Monica, in season eight. She makes the decision to pick up some really expensive boots, which she admits are way too expensive. While she doesn't reveal a price, she does claim they cost more than the rent that they pay, proving how expensive they are.

The boots cost so much that Chandler wants to return them immediately, but Monica eventually promises that she will wear them so often it will be worthwhile. However, the boots end up causing her so much pain that Chandler has to carry her home, unable to return them due to the fact Monica's feet have bled inside.

4 A Pin

This is a gift that is higher on the sentimental value but also did cost a lot of money as Ross gifts Rachel an expensive brooch, which was just like one her grandmother used to own. This was a birthday gift and it's one that cost Ross a lot of money to buy.

This is a huge moment for the show as it really is a declaration of Ross's love for Rachel, and it is something that makes her realize exactly what is going on between them at the same time. It kickstarts their epic love story and is one of the most expensive purchases of the show.

3 Best Buds Bracelet

During the season two episode, 'The One With The Prom Video,' Joey gets his best friend, Chandler a gift after years of leaning on Chandler financially. He buys a golden bracelet that has 'Best Buds' inscribed upon it, which Chandler mocks in front of him.

2 Rachel's Cat

One of the most expensive purchases throughout the show, which has a confirmed price is Rachel's cat. This purchase cost her $1,000, which was a huge sum of money for Rachel to throw down, despite this being something she claimed she always wanted.

However, things didn't quite go to plan for Rachel with this purchase. The cat clearly wasn't the loving type that Rachel had hoped for, instead, it would hiss at her and scratch her arms to pieces, forcing her to wear oven gloves when she held the animal.

1 Sportscar

Throughout Friends, it is rare that we see any of the main gange driving or being in a car, but when the group turns 30, Ross decides to treat himself to a brand new sports car. Despite the fact that he apparently drives it incredibly slowly, he still buys it anyway.

Everyone enjoys taking turns in the car throughout the course of the episode, and even though it's not mentioned again by the show, it is still a very expensive purchase. The actual figure is never revealed, but sports cars don't exactly come cheap.
