The USA Network show Mr.Robot, created by Sam Esmail, has made some noise with various award nominations and wins, and generates significant buzz on social media. The show ran for four seasons and concluded its run on December 22nd of 2019. The show followed Elliot Alderson, a computer programmer who is a hacker by night, dedicated to taking down corporate America. The top 1% specifically. Along the way, viewers are sucked into the chaotic mind of Elliot, and by extension, his alter-ego Mr.Robot.

10 Gloria Reuben was a Backup Singer for Tina Turner

Gloria Reuben plays Krista Gordon, Elliot's therapist in the show. Besides acting, Reuben is also a singer. Back in the 2000s, she was a backup vocalist for Tina Turner during her Twenty Four Seven Tour.
Reuben also released her own albums titled Just For You in 2007 and Perchance to Dream in 2015. In the last quarter of 2019, she started touring around New York City to promote her upcoming album titled For All We Know. Reuben's style of music includes jazz and performing as a pianist.
9 Portia Doubleday Comes From a Family of Actors

Portia Doubleday plays Angela Moss in Mr.Robot, who is a childhood friend of Elliot and helps him get a job at AllSafe Cybersecurity. Doubleday isn't the only actor in the family and it seems to be a family business. Both her parents, Frank Doubleday and Christina Hart, were actors themselves.
Frank Doubleday is known for the films Assault on Precinct 13 (1976) and Escape from New York (1981). He was in the 1989 film L.A. Bounty and Dollman (1991). Christina Hart appeared in various television and film roles including Hawaii Five-O (1977), The Incredible Hulk (1979), and the film Hear No Evil (1982). Portia Doubleday's sister, Caitlin starred as Rhonda Lyon in Fox's Empire. She also played Jessie Caine in the musical drama show Nashville (2017-18).
8 BD Wong Is a Secret Hoarder

BD Wong plays Whiterose Zhi Zhang in Mr.Robot. His character becomes one of the main antagonists in the show and for Elliot. In a New York Times interview back in 2012, BD Wong expressed that he tries to keep his home as neat as he can, but that can sometimes be a struggle. He admitted that he has “a profound discomfort with throwing things away.”

Bobby Cannavale played Irving in Mr.Robot, a high up killer for White Rose. Bobby Cannavale is known for his many roles in films such as Chef (2014), Annie (2014), Ant-Man (2015), and The Irishmen (2019). For people who are just coming to be fans of Cannavale, they might now know he had a recurring role in the hit show Will & Grace (2004).
Cannavale played Vince D'Angelo, the cop boyfriend of Will, until the show's end in 2006. In 2005, he received the nomination and win for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series.
6 Christian Slater Is No Stranger to Being Arrested

Christian Slater is recognized for playing Jason J.D. Dean in the film Heathers (1988) and starred in the film The Legend of Billie Jean (1985). While Christian Slater has become a household name for portraying Mr.Robot in Mr.Robot, he is no stranger to getting arrested. In 1989, he was arrested for drunk driving and was sentenced to 10 days in jail.
Later in 1994, he was arrested for packing a handgun in his luggage and tried to board a commercial flight. He was only sentenced to mandatory community service. In 1997, Slater was released after serving 59 days in jail for good behavior after being arrested for punching his then-girlfriend while under the influence. Slater was accused in 2005 of groping a woman in Manhattan, New York but the charges were dropped due to lack of evidence.
5 Michael Cristofer is a Tony Award-Winning Playwright

Michael Cristofer plays Philip Price, the CEO of E Corp in Mr.Robot. Many fans of the show may not know that Cristofer is also a filmmaker and playwright as well as being an actor. In 1977, he received a Tony Award for Best Play for his play The Shadow Box. The Same play earned him a Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
He has also written a number of screenplays for films with many notable actors. This includes Falling in Love (1984) with Meryl Streep and Robert De Niro, and Breaking Up (1997) with Russell Crow and Salma Hayek. Cristofer also wrote Casanova (2005) with Heath Ledger.
4 Carly Chaikin Is a Talented Artist

Besides playing Darleen Alderson on Mr.Robot, Carly Chaikin has a hidden talent outside of acting. She is a gifted painter who was self-taught and started taking her art seriously when she was seventeen. She told Marie Claire that she had considered going to art school but ultimately decided against it.
We're not talking about small sketches or doodles. She mostly works in oil paints and acrylics and showcases her work on Instagram. They are definitely exceptional. Chaikin explains that when people find out she paints they assume its stick figures, but are surprised by her talent. She had a solo art exhibit in 2018 titled Noun in West Hollywood.
3 Rami Malek Has a Twin Brother

With the growing success of Rami Malek from Mr.Robot and his role as Freddy Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, the spotlight is squarely centered on him. People had no idea that Malek is actually a twin. Malek has an identical twin brother named Sami Malek. While the two are remarkably similar in appearances, they have two vastly different careers.
Rami is a full four minutes older than his brother Sami. Rami Malek took to acting and has made a name for himself even winning his first Oscar. His brother is an English and ESL teacher. Because of their similar appearances, Rami was able to pass as his brother to help him get college course credit by reciting a Greek monologue.
2 Sam Esmail is Married to Emmy Rossum

Sam Esmail outside of Mr.Robot is married to actor Emmy Rossum. You would recognize Rossum for playing Fiona Gallagher in the hit show Shameless (2011). She was also in the films The Day After Tomorrow (2004) and Beautiful Creatures (2013).
Sam Esmail met his wife when he directed the film Comet in 2014, in which she had a role and was an executive producer. The couple dated for two years before getting engaged in August of 2015. They got married on May 28th, 2017 at Central Synagogue on East 55th street in New York City. The wedding included some serious Hollywood actors including Robert Downey Jr, and the stars from Shameless and Mr.Robot.
1 Sam Esmail Was a Hacker in College

Sam Esmail is an American film and television producer, director and writer. He is best known for his show Mr.Robot. He started writing the show back in the late 2000s, and used the 2008 financial crisis and Arab Springs as inspiration. When creating Elliot he described him as "a thinly veiled version of himself".
Esmail has more in common with Elliot than viewers think. His own experiences helped create the concept of the show. Back in his college days, Esmail was put on academic probation for hacking. He also developed a startup design that would give easier access to the internet when he was 20.
