Robert Kraft's Super Bowl LI Championship Ring Sells For $1.205 Million At Auction

The auction for Robert Kraft's Super Bowl LI championship ring has closed. Final sale price? $1.025 million.

The New England Patriots owner auctioned off the ring as part of the "All In Challenge." Bidding opened up at $75,000, and the item saw 35 different bids before closing at $1.025 million.

The lucky buyer will hop on Kraft's private plane and fly into Boston. They will then travel to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, where Kraft will personally award them the Super Bowl LI ring.

As noted in the item's listing, the ring is made up of 10-karat white gold, five marquise-cut diamonds and 278 round diamonds. "Greatest Comeback Ever" and "We Are All Patriots 2-3-02" are inscribed on the ring.

All of the money raised in the "All In Challenge" will be given to the World Central Kitchen, Feeding America, No Kind Hungry and Meals On Wheels.

Super Bowl LI saw perhaps the greatest comeback in the history of professional sports. The Patriots trailed the Atlanta Falcons 28-3 midway through the third quarter of Super Bowl LI, but Tom Brady and company went to work in crafting the historic comeback.

The Patriots rallied for 25 unanswered points in the second half, thanks to two touchdowns from James White, another from Danny Amendola and a field goal from Stephen Gostkowski.

New England won the coin toss and got the football first. Brady pieced together an eight-play, 75-yard drive that ended with White's two-yard rushing touchdown. And with that, the Patriots now had five Super Bowl championships - tied with the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers at the time for the second most Lombardi Trophies.

The Patriots would win a sixth Super Bowl two years later -tied with the Pittrsburgh Steelers for the most ever - after defeating the Los Angeles Rams 13-3. Brady left the Patriots in free agency this offseason to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but as long as Bill Belichick is the coach, Kraft can be optimistic about winning a seventh championship ring.
