Dave Bautista Reveals He Tried And Failed To Land The Role Of Bane In The DCEU

If Bane is going to appear in The Batman then the role should really go to Dave Bautista, but apparently, that won't be the case.
The Batman franchise has been relaunched so many times we are starting to lose track of everyone who has played the Dark Knight. Next year, providing production on the project hasn't been held up too much by the pandemic, Robert Pattinson will join what is already a long list of actors to have donned the black leather and spandex.
The Batman will reportedly be the first in a trilogy but other than that, details on the project are sparse. However, we do know that the movie will feature Catwoman and that Colin Farrell will play The Penguin. Batman fans are also hoping Bane makes the cut when it comes to the movie's villains, and many have an actor in mind for the role
Dave Bautista, otherwise known as Marvel's Drax to comic book fans. Multiple people have dreamt up what Bautista might look like as Bane, mainly sticking to how the steroid-fueled villain looks in the comics as opposed to the version Tom Hardy played in The Dark Knight Rises. The vision below courtesy of Saarukan might be the best one we have seen to date.
However, as the rumor mill surrounding Bautista as Bane started back up, the former pro wrestler was quick to break Batman fans' hearts. "Unfortunately it’s not. Tried my best," the former WWE Superstar replied to someone asking if there was any chance of him playing Bane in The Batman. Since filming has started, and the movie is still slated for a 2021 release, you'd have to think if he was going to play Bane, Bautista would know by now.
There's also the very real chance that Bautista is throwing us a curveball. That he has been cast as Bane for The Batman and it will be kept under wraps for as long as possible. Or, he has been cast as Bane but the villain won't emerge until the second or third movie in the trilogy. If that's the case, it makes sense that Bautista would deny the rumors as Warner Bros. wouldn't want information about future movies leaking before the first one has even been released.
