Dubai Offers A New Luxury 'Moon Retreat' For All The Star-Lovers

It's glamping, revised. Stargazers can retreat to the newly developed Dubai luxury moon retreat. As reported by Arab News, the retreat will open to guests during the first quarter of 2021 in the archaeological area of Mleiha.

The eco-luxury Moon Retreat was announced by Sharjah Investment and Development Authority, Shurooq to attract more tourists to the already known archaeological area of Mleiha. It's definitely not your ordinary luxury resort-- Moon Retreat will offer visitors the opportunity to stargaze, as there is much less light pollution in the air. So far, Moon Retreat offers 10 single-bed domes, 4 family tents, and 2 single-bed tents. Each of these units is of course supplied with all the needed amenities and according to Arab News, some of the units may include a pool.

Besides stargazing, Moon Retreat can be a place to simply get away from it all. 24 Global News boasts that visitors of this luxury retreat may be able to hike within the archaeological space of Mleiha. Experience the remarkable history by venturing deep into the deserts of Sharjah. There is also horseback riding, learn at the Mleiha archaeological Centre (home to a collection of artifacts and fossils), and experience the cuisine, as reported by Discover Mleiha. Designed to offer guests authentic camping impose, Moon Retreat is 75% complete and will be Shurooq’s second boutique hospitality offering in the Mleiha region. The first being Mysk Al Faya Retreat.

Not only will guests at the Moon Retreat be able to experience the benefits of this stargazing resort, but they will also have access to offered by the other properties in the vicinity such as Mysk Al Faya Retreat and Mleiha Archaeological Centre. This includes the Mysk Al Badayer Retreat in the nearby Al Badayer Desert, according to Gulf Business. What sets Moon Retreat apart from the other luxury resorts is that it offers camping enthusiasts and tourists the opportunity to explore the region’s most stunning natural attractions. The other appealing factor is that this resort is eco-friendly, which the director of project development at Shurooq Khawla Al Hashimi, praises.

“Developing such eco-friendly retreats continues to position Sharjah as the hub of responsible tourism in the region. Shurooq’s eco-tourism projects have contributed significantly to helping tourists and visitors connect with our heritage and nature while playing a great role in boosting the emirate’s leisure and cultural status across the global tourism sector," he stated in Gulf Business.

So far, we are unaware of price options for Moon Retreat, but we expect that to change when the completion of the resort draws closer. We can also expect this luxury resort to be a hot destination, possibly drawing in the rich and powerful, and look forward to reporting more on Moon Retreat.
