Here's How Matthew McConaughey Found The Road To Success
Matthew McConaughey is easily considered to be one of Hollywood's most leading men, and his A-lister status isn't lost on anyone that has ever watched his movies. He commands a top wage for every appearance, and is deemed to be among the most established actors of our time. Many would be shocked to learn that he didn't really set out to be a successful Hollywood actor at all. In fact, he stumbled into the movie business and was indifferent to where the journey would take him. Matthew McConaughey is a small-town guy at heart, and that's one of the most endearing qualities that many fans have truly been attracted to as they discover more about his life beyond the cameras. He is the youngest of three brothers and was born on the 4th of November, 1969.
McConaughey's parents were devout Christians that lived a simple, humble life. His father owned a gas station and his mother was a teacher at the local school. She offered him a handsome wage of $120 if he would stop chewing his nails and become a hand model.

In 1991, he broke into on-screen work by appearing in a number of student films and snagging a small role in a beer commercial. He then switched roles and began making movies, making his directorial debut with his short film, Chicano Chariots.
It wasn't long before he would be put right back in front of a camera, and that opportunity would prove to be the one that changed the course of his life.

Matthew truly believed acting jobs would continue to be a hobby in his life, and he never really imagined himself becoming a bonified star. His steadfast refusal to be typecast proved to be a positive shift for his career. "I knew I could say no to the things I’d been doing. In saying no to those things, I knew work was going to dry up for a while… Year and a half, still nothing. At two years, all of a sudden, in my opinion, I became a good idea for some good directors.”
His decision to hold back in anticipation of a greater opportunity was a wise move. He went on to earn an Oscar for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, and in one swift move, McConaughey steered his career onto the path of his very own choice.
In spite of his worldwide fame, and his enormous $140 million net worth, Matthew McConaughey remains a simple man, from a small hometown. He prefers a low-key lifestyle, which he now enjoys with his wife Camila Alves, and their three beautiful children, Levi, Vida, and Livingston.
