Meet Stephen Hung, The Flamboyant And Erratic Chinese Businessman Worth $400 Million
Stephen Hung is a businessman that was born into an affluent family in 1959. His parents were highly successful real estate investors that put significant focus on higher learning and academia. They encouraged Stephen to embrace his creativity while putting focus on pursuing higher learning opportunities and attaining top grades. He was known to thrive in his studies and was determined to absorb as much knowledge as possible to further advance his life and future.
Hung began by immersing himself in studying medicine at Columbia University, and then moved on to study at the University Of Southern California, where he obtained his MBA in business administration.
Stephen Hung didn't have to pave his own way through life. He chose to. His parents left him a legacy that contained far more money than he would ever spend, but he never took that for granted. He wanted to learn more, do more, and be an active participant in his own financial growth. Growing up in a wealthy household only inspired Stephen to continue along the same path, and he quickly put his focus on achieving his goals.
Hung's experience stems from his career as a former banker, property speculator, and Chinese mastermind in the world of business. By journeying through his role in the banking sector, Hung began rubbing elbows with some of the most elite business associates and high-powered influencers in the financial world. He quickly recognized the value in establishing relationship with this elite group of professionals that soon became his inner circle of friends.
He proceeded to become the chairman of The 13 Holdings Limited, the chairman of The Taipan Investment Group, and an active vice chairman of Rio Entertainment Group.
Being worth $400 million translates to an over-the-top lifestyle for Stephen Hung and his wife Deborah. She is a former model that now owns the most prominent modeling agency in Asia and she thrives in the business world alongside her famous husband. The power couple are known to dine in the finest restaurants and take the most luxurious vacations that money can buy. Deborah and Stephen's Instagram pages are littered with images of the couple as they explore every major destination in the world, and the majority of the images depict the stunning interiors within their home, a number of luxury cars, and some of the most astounding life experiences that most people can only ever dream of. There are photos of the pair going up in an air balloon, hanging out with the camels in Dubai, riding thoroughbred horses, and enjoying time on some of the most luxurious yachts that are jam-packed with amenities. Of course, they journey to most of their destinations in one of their numerous private planes.
Stephen Hung has topped the headlines and made history for making the single most expensive Rolls Royce purchase the world has ever seen. In fact, this vehicular purchase made him known worldwide as "the worlds biggest spender." While most people can only ever dream of buying a Rolls Royce in their lifetime, Stephen Hung went ahead and bought 30 of them - all at once. He placed the order for a fleet of 30 Rolls Royce Phantoms, all in the signature bright red color, directly from the British automaker's highly esteemed factory in Goodwood, England. Of course, they were also all custom built and designed to meet Hung's exclusive taste.
The extended wheelbase luxury cars were completely tailored to his needs, with sources indicating that "the livery applied to each of The 13 Phantoms comprises a specially formulated 'Stephen Red' exterior paint developed to the exacting requirements of Mr Hung, complemented by a hand-painted gold twin coach line that culminates in a specially designed The 13 motif. The Bespoke 21-inch wheels are also finished in 'Stephen Red.'" To top off the order, Hung arranged for 2 of the Rolls Royce cars to be gold-infused, simply because he could.
Stephen Hung's wardrobe is as eccentric as his lifestyle is. His flair for fashion has become his signature trademark, and every time he steps out of his mega-mansion, photographers flock to take photos of his incredible attire, and credit him as being a fashion influencer for the younger generation.
Hung isn't afraid to be bold with his attire. He is often seen with colored highlights in his hair, and is adorned in colorful, patterned suit jackets and shirts. He only wears custom designed suits and everything he puts on is an exceptionally high-end fashion label. He often gravitates towards Jean Paul Gaultier, Versace, Gucci, and other big brand fashion labels. Not only does he wear attire that is created by the most sought after designers, he happens to be friends with them, too.
Stephen Hung certainly makes his presence known when it comes to his business projects, and that rang true when he invested, or perhaps it's better explained by saying he 'gambled' away multiple millions on the Louis XIII Casino resort hotel in Macao. He invested $1.3 billion in the production, design, and building of the hotel that was said to feature the most luxurious suites in the world. The cost per night in one of these lavish suites was said to start at $130,000 and go upwards from there.
Private boutiques were designed to be invite-only opportunities for the uber wealthy to come and shop privately for jewelry pieces that start at $1 million each.
His dreams and ambitions sounded like they would unfold to develop into one of the world's leading destinations for the extremely wealthy guests it was poised to attract. However, after a series of financial hurdles with investors and the Chinese government's refusal to support such a lavish concept, Hung found it impossible to garner the many licences that were required to open his facility.
Seemingly unphased after losing a fortune on this development project, Hung continues to progress through his other business endeavors, and he and Deborah are rumored to be starring in their very own reality television series later this year. The show is said to focus on their lavish lifestyle, their excessive spending, and the larger than life daily adventures of the $400 million man known to the world as Stephen Hung.
