Kanye’s 2020 Campaign Funds Were Stolen For Personal Use

Kanye West’s 2020 presidential campaign may have been short lived, but it was still the victim of theft. According to reports, the rapper’s campaign had thousands of dollars stolen to pay off a personal credit card.

In a letter sent to the Federal Election Commission on Tuesday, which was obtained by TMZ, the campaign claimed someone was able to access its bank account to make a nearly $4,000 payment on a credit card. They say the person was unaffiliated with the campaign, but don’t elaborate on how they could’ve accessed the account.

The theft happened on several occasions when the First Bank of Wyoming account was accessed in December and February.

Kanye’s campaign only became aware of the fraud when the FEC flagged the transactions and asked for more information. Upon an investigation, the campaign claims it became aware it was theft.

Kanye conceded defeat in November 202 after launching his campaign late in July. However, the rapper has hinted he’ll be running again in the future. “Welp Kanye 2024,” he captioned a photo of himself posing in front of the U.S. electoral map shortly after his loss, which he shared to social media.

More recently, Kanye mentioned another presidential campaign run in his collaboration “Keep it Burnin’” with Future, which was released this past April.

“When you run for ’24, I bet your spouse gon’ be with you / Who put this together? Me, that’s who,” Kanye raps in the song.

He also references Vice President Kamala Harris’ call to President Joe Biden after their 2020 win in the song. “We did it, Joe, but what they really do? Save the pep talk, and the TED Talk,” Kanye raps.

Although Kanye’s campaign may have been targeted by fraudsters, he’s certainly not hurting for cash. The Yeezy founder is reportedly worth $2 billion, and his net worth only appears to be increasing.

For example, when he released Donda 2 earlier this year exclusively on his Stem Player, Kanye made $2.2 million in a single day from sales.

But the billionaire hasn’t been shy of flaunting his wealth. From dropping half a million on a luxury Mercedes minivan to renting a fire truck for his kids’ school drop off, Kanye proves he likes to live in style.

He also makes sure his romantic interests are living large to. Since his split from Kim Kardashian last year, Kanye has made headlines for sparing no expense when treating the women he’s been dating.
