This ‘Queer Eye’ Star Listed His Mansion On Airbnb For Only $22
For fans of x – or anyone looking for a great find on Airbnb – one of the travel site’s newest listings could be of interest to you. Bobby Berk has reportedly listed his Palm Desert mansion for only $11 per night, an amazing deal considering the home and location.
According to TMZ, the reality star is offering two initial two-night stays in his home for only $22 each. The dates are June 6-7 and June 9-10. The minor fee gives guests full access to the 5,000 square feet estate, which includes 7 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.
The mansion’s other amenities include an indoor theatre, bocce ball court, hot tub, and a pool. There are also a variety of yoga areas set against the desert backdrop.
“My desert oasis, affectionately known as ‘Casa Tierra,’ is a fiercely unique Spanish-style getaway featuring more than 5,000 square feet and modern yet cozy touches throughout,” Bobby wrote in the Airbnb listing.
“The overall design reflects the color and textures of the desert landscape and embodies both the indoor and outdoor lifestyle that Southern California is known for,” he continues. “It's an ideal mountainside escape with an abundance of privacy.”
The property is in close proximity to El Paseo and Palm Theatres and boasts a variety of hiking trails.
“Known as Southern California's most storied resort oasis, and surrounded by picturesque mountain ranges and palm trees galore, Palm Desert has long been associated with travel and adventure,” the listing adds.
“Casa Tierra is the perfect location to get away from it all, while not being too far - it's only 10 minutes from El Paseo and 15 minutes from the heart of town,” it continues. “Between the special touches and care I've poured into this home, and the natural splendor of the area, my goal is for you to leave relaxed, inspired and rejuvenated.”
Bobby only recently finishing renovations on the home before listing it, but that was his plan all along.
“I thought I should find a house and I should Airbnb it,” he told Architectural Digest this month. “I could get the house that I’ve always wanted as a vacation home, but also make money off of it at the same time. It justifies getting an additional home.”
The home was a bit of a fixer-upper. Bobby had to invest in improving its plumbing, electrical, and roofing in addition to all aesthetic updates. Nevertheless, told AD that he chose to keep the home’s “original flowing and wood ceilings” to pay homage to the Spanish Hacienda-style home.
