Robert Downey Jr. Paid For Armie Hammer To Go To Rehab

There’s been renewed speculation into Armie Hammer’s personal life (and finances) since he was spotted telling timeshares earlier this month. It’s now been revealed that The Lone Ranger star had help paying for his 2021 stay in rehab.

On July 14, a source told Vanity Fair that Robert Downey Jr. paid for Armie’s rehab after encouraging him to get help.

Armie checked into the Guest House, a Florida rehab facility, where he stayed for six months. At the time, sources said the actor was seeking help for unresolved trauma and substance abuse.

“Everyone looks at Armie thinking that he’s had some sort of privileged life—and that must mean there were no problems in his youth and everything was peachy keen,” said source told Vanity Fair. “But that’s not necessarily the way things go.

The Guest House touts itself as a facility largely geared towards celebrity and affluent clientele.

Our programs are open to all adults over the age of 18, though we cater in particular to clients who have high-stress or high-visibility lifestyles such as business executives, politicians and entertainment professionals, as well as all those whose lives have lacked guidance or support,” its website reads.

That year, an Instagram account shared text messages allegedly from Armie, which described a number of disturbing sexual fantasies, including cannibalism and assault.

Soon after, multiple women who claimed to have dated the actor spoke to Page Six and recounted the abuse they say he subjected them to. Armie’s career took a nosedive after the allegations claim to light. He was dropped by his talent agency and from several upcoming projects.

In the last year, Armie has largely stepped away from the spotlight, only to resurface recently in the Cayman Islands. Images published by TMZ show the actor in a hotel uniform speaking to guests about the benefits of a timeshare.

A flyer also began circulating using Armie’s face to advertise hotel packages. “I am your personal concierge and am here to help you get the very best from your vacation,” the flyer, which was later deemed a hoax, read.

Armie’s lawyer Andrew Brettler told Variety he knows the actor is friends with the owner of the hotel but couldn’t confirm or deny whether Armie is selling timeshares. “I don’t have any additional information,” the attorney stated.

Armie’s two children and his ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers have been seen alongside him in the Caymans. The couple were married from 2010 to 2020.
