While her portrayal as Betty Cooper on Riverdale has propelled her to fame in recent years, actress Lili Reinhart was unknown prior to the show. The actress made her first appearance as Betty on the CW show in January 2017, and her fame has steadily risen. However, when Reinhart initially began her career in Hollywood, she encountered several challenges.

On September 13, 1996, in Cleveland, Ohio, Reinhart entered this world as the middle child in a family with three sisters. Growing up in Ohio, Reinhart made her acting debut at age 10 in a neighborhood play. By age 12, she was actively auditioning for roles from Alice in Wonderland to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. She credits her parents for helping her pursue an acting career: when she was a teenager, Reinhart's mother, Amy, drove her from Ohio to New York to attend auditions; her father used his hotel points to cover their lodging costs.

Unfortunately, since she was in the seventh grade, Reinhart has struggled with social anxiety and depression as a teen. At the age of 18, Reinhart came to Los Angeles in hopes of pursuing an acting career. She spent five months in California and then moved back east to see a therapist.

She moved to Los Angeles at 18 on her own and, after five months, was on the verge of giving up. Her income and social circle were nonexistent in the big city, as Los Angeles wasn't exactly the most welcoming city. Later, she returned home and got a job to build up money for another shot in LA. If her acting profession didn't work out this time, at least she had a backup plan. Luckily, fate had other plans as it was time for her moment of glory with Riverdale. Thanks to her appearance on the Riverdale, new doors have opened for her, and she can finally bask in the glow of fame. The 2017 television series Riverdale presents a darker and more mysterious version of the familiar Archie Comics universe. Betty Cooper, who Reinhart plays, is a fun and cheerful character with a shady side. Reinhart's big break came when she was cast as Betty.

Reinhart has been given a chance to shine in the show, and the on-screen couple Betty and Jughead, affectionately dubbed Bughead, has been a fan favorite. In addition, the show highlighted Reinhart's vocal abilities in a musical episode where the group sang selections from Carrie: The Musical. In one interview, Reinhart revealed that she almost didn't make it to Riverdale; she auditioned for the part of Betty and was initially rejected. Thankfully, Reinhart was given a second audition. Riverdale not only gave Reinhart a new career path but also connected her with people who would become some of her closest friends. These include KJ Apa (Archie), Camila Mendes (Veronica), and Madelaine Petsch (Cheryl Blossom); Petschsoon became Reinhart's roommate in Vancouver during the first season of Riverdale.

Since Riverdale's premiere, Reinhart has been a part of the cast of the suspense drama Galveston (2018). The following year, she appeared alongside American singer Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu in the comedy-drama Hustlers (2019), in which she played a stripper. Reinhart played Annabelle, the group's baby and a former dancer who joins Ramona and her team to drug and rob their Wall Street clients. Using the phrase slutty Hannah Montana, Reinhart characterized the look she was going for with her character. The world premiere of Hustlers took place on September 7, 2019, during the Toronto International Film Festival, and the film was released in theaters across the United States the following week.

The film was well-received by critics and made $157.6 million at the box office. Reinhart had a cameo in the mid-credits scene of Elizabeth Banks' Charlie's Angels that same year (2019). In the middle of it all, this proud bisexual woman finally came out in June of 2020. She revealed her sexual orientation by posting on Instagram that she would attend a protest called LGBTQ+ for #BlackLivesMatter. Although her loved ones and coworkers already knew, Reinhart believed it was time to announce the news publicly. The romantic drama, Chemical Hearts, based on the 2016 novel by Krystal Sutherland, will be released by Amazon Studios in August 2020, with her in the lead role. The film was written and directed by Richard Tanne. As Grace Town, Reinhart portrayed a high school senior with a physical disability who falls in love with Henry Page, the school newspaper's promising and ambitious writer.

Reinhart's first credit as an executive producer also came for the film Chemical Hearts. Reinhart was also cast as the lead in Look Both Ways (2021)by WanuriKahiu, where she was also credited as executive producer. Reinhart played Natalie, a college senior whose life splits in two on the eve of her graduation. She either moves to Los Angeles to pursue her job or falls pregnant at an early age and has to figure out how to be a parent. Reinhart's journey is indeed a long but beautiful one that inspires many people to go for their dream.
