Alec Baldwin Lists Longtime Hamptons Estate For $29 Million
Alec Baldwin III is an American actor, film producer, comedian, and political activist. The oldest of the Baldwin brothers, he is known for his versatile performances, from comic work on television to dramatic roles in film.
According to Dirt, It’s been a hell of a couple of years for Alec Baldwin and wife Hilaria. First, there was the kerfuffle over Hilaria’s outing as not being Spanish, which she’d long claimed; they welcomed two babies in one year, one born to a surrogate, and Hilaria is pregnant again, their sixth bambino. (Baldwin has an adult daughter, Ireland, with Kim Basinger.) Then, of course, there was Alec’s accidental shooting and killing last year of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, on the New Mexico movie set of the western film “Rust.” The film’s writer and director, Joel Souza, was also injured in the shooting.
After the shooting, the family retreated to Vermont. It was there where, earlier this year, the Baldwins bought a pastoral 55.3-acre spread in an off-market deal. The roughly 3,600-square-foot main house, a fully restored antique farmhouse that dates to the late 18th century, includes three bedrooms, three baths, a fireplace-warmed tavern room and, for those especially cold winter days, a sauna. There’s also a charming four-bedroom and two-bath guest cottage, a horse barn, and a huge, postcard-perfect red dairy barn.
And now, the sands still shifting under their feet, the Baldwins are planning to bid adiós to their other country place, another old house in the Amagansett area of the Hamptons. A longtime Hamptonite, Baldwin purchased the circa 1700 Nathaniel Baker House with Kim Basinger back in 1996. The original house was preserved and restored to the way it was in 1756, while a significant addition was added to make it more suitable to modern life. Newly listed at $29 million with Scott Bradley and Michael Cinque at Saunders Real Estate, the new owner gets 10 acres of postcard-perfect property, some of which is designated as agricultural reserve.
The 10,000-square-foot house includes four bedrooms, five full baths, and two powder rooms. The digital listing, which includes at this time no internal photos of the house, refers to the “grand eat-in kitchen, dining room, movie theater, wine tasting room and a private wood-paneled library.” (Lookie-loos, however, can check out some pics from when they had the place photographed for ELLE Décor in 2016.)
Outside, there is a 625-square-foot pavilion with fieldstone fireplace and a 20’ x 50’ gunite pool and spa, as well as a vegetable garden that’s fenced to keep the deer out. There’s also an array of solar panels. Not enough space? Approved plans include a 1,200-square-foot expansion that would add a second-floor study, another en-suite bedroom, and a covered balcony.
Though it was rumored and reported a couple years ago that they were quietly shopping it around with plans to move to Westchester County, the Baldwins’ main home continues to be their 4,100-square-foot penthouse at the tony Devonshire House in New York’s Greenwich Village, which they bought in a series of transactions between 2011 and 2019 for a total outlay of more than $16 million.
