Kourtney Kardashian Shades Kim’s SKKN Brand Amid Ongoing Rivalry
In front of the cameras, the Kardashian-Jenners appears supportive of each other’s business ventures. It’s common for the sisters to have brand collaborations and promote each other’s products on their social media.
But Kourtney appeared to throw shade at her younger sister Kim on social media recently, shortly after it was revealed the two have an ongoing feud.
Earlier this month, Kourtney used her Instagram Story to promote her supplement brand Lemme. "I'm so happy you guys are loving @lemme Purr as much as we do!! It sold out on @amazon last night but we still have a little left on our website,” Kourtney wrote.
"All about the happy healthy vagina club," she continued.
However, it wasn’t what Kourtney said in the post that piqued curiosity, but what she showed. The promotional clip was filmed in front of her medicine cabinted; the Lemme supplements were front and center in the shot.
But some eagled-eye fans noticed that Kim’s skincare brand SKKN was nowhere to be seen in Kourtney’s medicine cabinets, despite other products being present in the background.
This would’ve been an easy way to cross-promote her sister’s brand, so some fans wondered if Kourtney was indirectly throwing shade at Kim by excluding her brand.
Then again, Kourtney’s post didn’t feature any products from her other sister Kylie Jenner’s skincare or makeup brands. Kourtney may have avoided showing Kima and Kylie’s products simply because it would be too many brands – and too obvious to her audience.
However, it is known that Kim and Kourtney have a rivalry right now, so it’s not far-fetched for fans to assume the move was personal.
The sisters’ feud has been explored in season three of The Kardashians. It seems to have started around Kourtney’s wedding to Travis Barker last year.
In April, Kourtney accused Kim of using her wedding as a business opportunity during an episode of the family’s reality show.
"My sister used my wedding as a business opportunity," Kourtney lamented to the cameras.
"She felt like her wedding vibes were stripped from her,” Kendall later told Kim, to which the SKIMS founder expressed surprise.
"I'm really confused on how this narrative came into her head,” Kim said. "Like, I couldn't have been more mindful. I said, ‘Don't do anything that Kourtney wore to her wedding.'"
Kourtney was apparently bothered Kim scored a campaign with Dolce & Gabana after the fashion house dressed Kourtney and her bridal party for her Italian celebration. It appears she feels her sister worked on getting the deal during the wedding celebration, thereby taking the focus on her big day.
Kim and Kourtney may have tension in their relationship, but the jury is still out on whether they’re actually throwing shade via social media.
