Travis Scott Gives Fan The (Very Expensive) Jordans Right Off His Feet
When he’s not selling sneakers, Travis Scott is apparently giving them to fans straight off his feet. While leaving an event on Thursday night at Tao in Hollywood, Los Angeles, the rapper made an impromptu stop for a group of fans.
According to TMZ, the fans were lined up outside of the venue hoping to get a peak at Travis. Though he was already in his car, the “Sicko Mode” hitmaker pulled over beside the group.
He greeted them by offering up a pair of his new Nike Jordan Air 1 Low, referred to as the “Reverse Mocha.” The limited-edition pair will be officially available for purchase in a few weeks. The outlet notes that the shoes Travis gifted the fan retail for up to $1,500 new. It’s no wonder the fan took off in a hurry.
Travis has collaborated with Nike multiple times in the past. His latest drop was released in May, and it was so popular that a raffle had to be held for buyers.
The drop include a variety of limited-editing clothing pieces, like jackets, shirts, and pants. But the real star of the collection were the new Travis Scott Air Trainer 1s. Travis only released two pairs of the rare sneakers in the drop.
Knowing the demand for the new Air Trainers would be high, Nike set up an online raffle to choose the lucky buyers at random. Over 1 million people signed up within 30 minutes.
Travis suffered a stain to his reputation last year with the fatal Astroworld tragedy, in which multiple people (including minors) died after a crowd surge. The lawsuits against him reportedly total $10 billion. Despite the tragic festival, Travis’s career has appeared to weather the storm. He’s played a variety of private events and concerts since then and has even booked his first festival performance.
Though he may be facing billions of dollars in lawsuits, his finances haven’t taken a hint. Want evidence? Travis was recently reported to have bought one of the rarest Bugattis. Earlier this month, the father-of-two was spotted driving a Bugatti Veyron Chiron Super Sport in Brentwood, California. Only 30 models of the Bugatti have been made.
Though the car starts at $3.5 million, Travis reportedly spent $5.5 million on the luxury ride thanks to custom additions. With such an expensive ride at his disposal, gifting a pair of Jordans right off his feet is clearly no big deal.
